RE:RE:6 Analysts now have a strong buy Looking at the Reuter's Stock Plus Reports, updated yesterday, and based on seven analysts, they rate IVN a 6 out of 10, up from 4 just two months ago. Consensus is buy, but not a strong buy. Five buy, two hold. Obviously some analysts will feel more strongly than others.
More interesting is how this breaks down. Average fundamentals are awarded 4, risk 8 and momentum 9. Which is what I've been saying all along. The fundamentals today are inherently weak, and this according to the pros, not just myself. But from a technical point of view, it has strong momentum. Someone either wants to buy it, and/or seeks to run up the stock.
Stocks don't have to move up or down based on fundamentals. If they did, this would be a pretty boring market. The casino effect is equally important, if not more so. I prefer when both the fundamental and speculative stories both line up on the same page.
Alvarez, when you say nine analysts call this a strong buy, you might consider listing the analysts along with their specific price targets. Also many analysts have upside and downside scenarios. Are you including both scenarios in the forecast? Or just the high notes? Still, 6 is a lot better than 4. It's been a good month for IVN.
