Protect shares from future short attacksNow that the stock seems to be recovering, if we all do as Punkrocky suggested a day or so ago and put in a sell order on your shares at say $200, your shares would be unavailable to be rented out to short sellers by the banks or tutes. I researched it as I had my doubts that this was a viable strategy, but apparently it is. If every shareholder did this, then it would prevent any future short attacks because there would be no shares available to be rented out. As sure as the sun rises and sets you can bet there will be more attempts in the future. I've now done it and everyone else should too.
I am kind of digusted with my own bank as just in the past week they have revamped their online brokerage to make it easier for people to short stocks. This tells me that they would have no qualms whatsoever about renting out my stock to shorters just to collect a rental fee. The fact that the shorter will in all likelihood destroy the stocks value is irrelevant. Not nice of them. Putting in a sell order with a high ask price will put a stop to that.
