My thoughts on RC

My thoughts on RC

It's quick and cheap, can give the Geo's a way to outline a mineralization halo.
Downside it doesn't count toward reserve building.  Personally I'm in favour of using RC for large step outs, then DD to infill if it looks like the mineralization continues.  RC gets a bad name because it's so easy to salt, but real-time XRF analysis has added a layer of respectability to it.

Bottom line, there is no way to verify RC results except by DD right beside the RC hole.  Also you don't really learn much about the stratigraphy or orientation of faults.  Upside if you hit some bonanza grade with RC it's a no brainer to DD beside.   Mixed bag.
