1. Certain Traders, Shorting Organisations or Investors identify high-flying stocks that they either think are:
a. genuinely overvalued
b. are in a no-news period where the stock can be manipulated short-term for quick gain
c. Have significant potential but , given their already high gains, nervous investors can be spooked into selling out for a profit if the share shows signs of decline.
2. They then create conditions that favour their ploy eg. producing critical reports ( recent example here), posters talking down the company and its´products while offering examples of so-called better competitors such as Moemoney and Thee Rook who introduce FALSE INFORMATION( that initially seems convincing enough to cause doubts in investors´minds but when thoroughly challenged for proof fail to come up with any, change the subject or angle of attack, disappear for a few days and then come back with either the same information or a variation BUT they never present proof because it doesn´t exist). We have seen countless examples of this in the past weeks.
3. Once scared investors sell they either make a short term profit if they are traders or they then buy the lower priced shares themselves in order that THEY are the ones to benefit from the TRUE VALUE of the shares later.
4. HOWEVER Shorters often play a dangerous game. If the game goes against you because news comes while you are holding a short position you can get very badly burnt. History is full of individuals, Hedge Funds etc. who lost very big. Some examples of Companies that had huge short postions against them are TESLA, AMAZON, HERBALIFE and many many more. Billions were lost.
5. Unfortunately those (as in this case I believe) who are trying to depress the share price to mop up the sold shares for themselves often do very well due to SHAREHOLDER FEAR.
Those playing this game know that news will break soon and if they can use the lull before news release to frighten you into selling they will and are doing so.
It´s up to you to HOLD FIRM or let them take advantage of you for their own profit.
