RE:RE:RE:RE:Regarding NP I think you missed my point. I was not dreaming. I was speculating about what type of solution might be necessary to move forward with.NP. I will take the tribe at its word. They claim sovereignty over the FISH lake area. The courts have said the mine site is not in their sovereign territory but in an area where they have hinting and fishing rights. Yet by giving them virtual veto power over New Prosperity the government has basically given the tribe sovereignty. I don't think giving them a financial cut of the mine revenues makes sense. That would look like a sell out by the tribal leadership to their own people and look like extortion to those outside the tribe.
I don't think the tribe is necessarily opposed to the mine. They don't want fish lake damaged and they oppose this type of activity happening on THEIR LAND (according to them) without their permission.
Taseko has resisted trying to get FN permission because the FN does not own the land. Paying them is tantamount to paying extortion money. Anyway. It seems to me that some sort of deal like what I proposed has to happen for this to move forward. It's not really dreaming because Indont think such a deal is likely.
