Alamos Gold Inc. is an intermediate gold producer with diversified production from three operations in North America. This includes the Young-Davidson mine and Island Gold District in northern Ontario, Canada, and the Mulatos District in Sonora State, Mexico. The Young-Davidson mine is located near the town of Matachewan in Northern Ontario, Canada. As is indicated in the above web site, price of gold goes up... most big trading mining stocks went down today... gold price is not a short term indicator for mining stocks.


From the Alamos 2nd quarter report, they have indicated pretty high cost to mine relative to the price of gold. 

But, as they say in the report, costs are expected to go down and as we have seen, the price of gold is going up... 
 
ALAMOS REPORT: Consolidated total cash costs for the quarter were $933 per ounce, a 33% increase compared to $699 per ounce in the prior year period, driven by higher unit costs at all operating sites. The most significant impact was at Young-Davidson, which increased to $1,564 per ounce in the quarter driven by both a reduction in mining rates and processing of lower grade stockpiles. Total cash costs are expected to decrease significantly in the second half of the year.

Buy low ... good time to add.
