Longterm, you have to look at the bigger picture here. We are not just talking about the financial/operational position that an aquiree is in but also the financial/operational position that the acquiror is in.
Headwater has brought on board a management team with a very specific skill set and therefore are best employed operating a company based on their previous experiences. If you look back on their work histories, you will discover that they were involved in Raging River, Wild Stream and Surge.
Therefore, based on their experience, I believe that they are looking at assets that they can unlock value based that experience. Those available assets are now getting fewer and fewer!
On the other side of the ledger, their quarterly losses keep piling up due to a lack of assets!
Personally, I now believe that they over estimated their ability to acquire an asset that would be good for their team to unlock it's value!
