RE:RE:Isn't Oil Fantastic ! Nice article. I wonder though what exactly people mean when they say "the death of oil". I'm not sure they mean its complete eradication from our lives. Rather, they mean the death of oil as a growth industry. Oil is being nibbled at or outright chewed upon from all sides. EVs and fuel efficiency, renewables, new materials, new technologies...etc. all chip away at demand while oil deposits have never been so numerous and accessible. So oil might not disappear overnight. But $100 oil? We might already have seen it for the last time. And if the price of oil remains unattractive, many, many jobs won't come back either.
So the industry likely won't die overnight. But there's a good chance it might stagnate instead of roaring back. I do hope we get at least one more good run.
