Surge Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil focused exploration and production (E&P) company. The Company's business consists of the exploration, development and production of oil and gas from properties in Western Canada. It holds focused and operated light and medium gravity crude oil properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, characterized by large oil in place crude oil reservoirs with low recovery factors. It holds a dominant land position and is drilling a mix of horizontal multi-frac and horizontal multi-lateral wells in the Sparky area. Sparky is a large, well established oil producing fairway in Western Canada. SE Saskatchewan is a focused operated asset base with light oil operating netbacks. SE Saskatchewan operates low-cost wells with short payouts and offers potential for continued area consolidation.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Institutional Ownership
After looking at trading in SGY for the past month, this makes perfect sense. I have 8 other oil stocks on my watchlist and when oil goes up they go up and when oil goes down they go down. But not SGY. For example on Friday WTI was down .48 and all 8 stocks went down with it, but not SGY it stayed even. Anytime SGY starts to climb someone will put in an ask at .31 or .32 for 500 shares and drop the price. The SP got as high as .35 on Aug 12th at end of day but was brought back down the next morning at opening even though WTI was up. So, although I am not a fan of conspiracy theories this Stock is definitely being manipulated to keep it in the low 30's. It's an interesting Stock to follow, so interesting that I am going to jump in on Monday opening.
