RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Not looking good for airlines Yes, you are right; Quebec used to have a Renault assembly plant located on the south shore of Montreal, GM assembly plant on the north shore as well as a Bell helicopter assembly plant also on the north shore of Montreal. For multiples reasons they moved away.
With Renault and GM gone we lost our automobile manufacturing industry, and it would surprise me if it would return unless Hydro Quebec decides to develop an electric vehicule.
If Quebec loses its aerospace industry because of incompetence or disinterest of the deciders, it would obviously be better for Canada if Ontario instead of France or the USA takes the lead.
As for Quebec we would still have our success stories Dollorama and Couche-Tard to keep us technically sharp while we charge in the twenty first century.
