Saskatchewan Government Getting Behind Rare Earths
Premier Scott Moe today. "Today, I joined Minister Jeremy Harrison and Saskatchewan Research Council President & CEO Mike Crabtree to announce that Saskatchewan is investing $31 million to establish Canada's first Rare Earth Processing Facility. Canada has one of the worlds largest reserves of rare earth elements, estimated at around 12% of global reserves, with substantial resource here in Saskatchewan. Rare earths are essential to our modern global economy, and are found in products such as electric vehicles, renewable power generation and many of the technologies that are critical to our modern way of life. Yet rare earths are largely untapped in our nation. This new facility will position Saskatchewan as a leading developer and export producer of high quality, globally competitive, environmentally sustainable rare earth elements."
