RE:CNRL are sniffing around for sure..The dollar value of the acquisition is one thing.
However the value of the amount of brainpower, manpower, time and energy it takes to raise capital, acquire land positions, shoot seismic, drill wells, build pipelines and plants, set up marketing agreements, meet regulatory requirements and countless other tasks is not lost on these acquiring companies.
ARX, CNRL, Conoco and others are well aware it would take them many years, immense effort and capital and good fortune to replicate what Crew, Pony and Kelt have built.
In addition most of the prime acreage has already been acquired so they could't replicate it even if they wanted to.
Buying companies or assets is often a much better approach.
