What’s the deal with Qualcomm? I am just wondering what kind of a deal NXO has with Qualcomm. As we know from the last Friday’s NR, NXO has completely finished development and testing of ALIIS and it’s ready for deployment.
According to August 25th MD&A, “NexOptic’s teams continue their work with Qualcomm Technologies’ AI and camera solution experts optimizing ALIIS™ into select Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platforms.”
This means they were in the “optimization phase” of development in August. Software is optimized so that it executes more rapidly, or to make it capable of operating with less memory or other resources, or draw less power. Optimization is typically performed at the end of the development stage. This means that the software’s functionality would have been fully tested before optimization began. Therefore, Qualcomm would have seen, reviewed, and approved that this software meets their functional requirements (“what” the software does) BEFORE final optimization began. NXO would not start this final stage (doing optimization for Qualcomm’s hardware) unless there was some preliminary (or conditional) deal in place. It would be nice to get some information related to this deal, especially how it relates to revenue. I wonder if they release some guidance, even if not details, around this deal soon.
Any thoughts?
