In many cases JCP owns the land and the building in the malls. Spg and Brookfield just got a control of that. They will punt the operation to Authentic Brands and they own the space from now on. They can redevelop it as they please. It is an incredible deal. Plain and simple. Compass Point analyst ran the numbers. JCP stores at avarage worth 16 million each. SPG and BPY just bought them for 600k each. Basically 50% discount to the land and the building is free.
