RE:Suncor trading same level as -$20 crude Yes.  The share price ~$70 (also $70 in USA funds) a dozen years ago.
It was a different world then with oil up to $147

It was a different company back then as it had not yet bought Petro Canada.

Oil consumption is on a 30 year journey from 100 million 
barrels per day in 2019 to a mere 50 million barrels per day in 2050.
This is the broad context.  We should not dwell on selective  short term details or we will lose

Oil shares are no longer suitable for your granny's pension.

Also, 6 months ago, the share price dropped to $14 Canadian.
