personally I've always seen it as an act of desperation usually from stocks that have fallen so low that need to do it to get the share price up.. in the case of wallbridge its pretty dilluted agreed but I'd still prefer they don't split..
Ok. In some cases its to meet listing requirements also. For example some miners have a usa audience. To get a nasdaq listing wm would prbly meet all the requirements except 1, they trade below 4$.
