THC:CBD 16.3%
Cost: 47.99$ / 3.5g @ Meta Cannabis Supply in Winnipeg *29.99$-BC or 39.99$ in N.B.
Genetics- Paradise Seeds - Afghani
Sensi Star was born in 1995, with tight lipped cultivators Paradise Seeds achieving legendary status after their wildly strong indica won both The High Times Cup and the Cannabis Cup in 1996 becoming the first CHAMP / CHAMP of its era and moving on to win over 15 titles to this day.
Bred for its heavy THC offerings, this strain referenced as a "one hitter quitter" that would melt through even the toughest of tolerances with it's heavy +20% THC content.
Opening Inspection:
Packaged in a short and stocky plain white opaque jar with a proper seal. A quick shake of the jar- sounds wholesome.
Peeling back the foil- I see 7 round nuggets- and one leaf. After a quick visit to the scales- it came back at 3.4~! The legal allowance for under-weight cannabis is only .1 of a gram.
Buds were dark green / tan colored with a medium covering of very short dark orange pistils, small corners of sugar leaf poking out, but well trimmed- trichomes really catching some colorful angles in the daylight- all in a healthy state of cure. More resin than blossom at this point. STICKY. FRESH.
Aroma: 9/10
Opening nose- This one really sent my on a nostalgia ride, even tho I don't think I have ever tried Sensi before. It smelled like 90's weed. There was less nuance back then- skunk smelled like skunks. It has a very strong aroma- that harkens to the spicy clove of Afghani but with a lot of balsam wood, sour kumquat / citrus and a twisted minty quality that makes me think of making thai green curry- mashing lemongrass, spices and and mint with an old wooden pestle and mortar. Really interesting.
Busting was difficult because of how sticky this was, it was more like pulling apart a very dense cotton ball, but it upped the presence of exotic herbal / spice notes and made it more kush-familiar.
Flavor: 8.5
Lemon Spice, a wooden, fruity note like a good white wine, refreshing herbal tone and finishing on a deep hashy flavor that I can still taste 20 minutes after smoking. This was a treat for lovers of that spicy Afghani flavour, with some well accented citrus and herb notes to liven it up.
Very easy to consume, smoke was rich without minimal irritation, one of the few strains I have bought that has a moisture level out of the jar that doesn't seem parched.- vaped better than expected for sticky product and ash was exceptionally white for a hydroponic grow, showing a great flush.
Experience: Nostalgia trip; reminded me of the Persian carpet store I bought my first hookah from in 1995. it was great to savor- easily drifting into sleepy ways even after a late cup of coffee. Strong effects after very minimal quantity used, had me easing into my chair, ready to write. Still cramming in chores, albeit snacking a lot. Very dry mouth, tastes like I was eating hash.
Medical Notes: Painkiller for headaches.
