Electricity demand is ever increaingI don't know what all the alternatives are. New industries demanding power are being set up in BC. Population is increasing. Electric vehicles will become popular. And so forth. BC Hydro can import electricity in the future from the US and watch the money leave the province. Wind power backed by hydro may do the job locally. 15GW I hear is the BC offshore potential. 15 times Site C. Nuclear energy is the cleanest, but not popular. Maybe Alberta can build a facility to power customers and export the rest. The Federal Gov't is leaning towards inter-provincial transmission of electricity (Oct 1, 2020). Finally, no energy source is impact free.
