There are companies who give these cheap shares to their good share holders and then you don't see the big price drop.
Like if you have 1000 shares registered in street name you can buy another 100 at a steep discount. like 2 when its 3. But you have to hold them at least 1 year.

or without street name but also hold for 1 or 2 years.

They gave them to the bankers who prob already doubled that money by stealing from us.
