Strategic Partnerships, and oh, this is a bit of a doozie!Aarcor prompted me to write this - thank you.
Aarcor, no bioasis CEO has made the data or promise of bioasis terribly exciting during interviews but imo, DrDR has done a good job of promoting the blue-sky potential in recent months, so I commend her for that. She also told me she expects bioasis to be a "billions" dollar company so I assume she's making it known to shareholders and potential shareholders we have something extremely valuable. I think we do as well!
I've noticed “new” marketing messages whereby bioasis is making it more clear than ever that they're all about strategic partnerships.
Does that mean DrDR is simply sitting back, collecting cheques and waiting for potential partnerships to come to her? I think it's possible but who knows except those on the inside. That said, if she's not working at full capacity, it's shameful given the number of diseases we could be curing. We’re already years behind where we should be (xB3-001 IND and phase 1/b trials should’ve already been completed) and the sp has been significantly diluted.
DrDR should feel immense pressure and responsibility to move this technology forward, with or without partners. Yes, yes, we need money to move it forward but the human race needs our high rate of BBB drug penetration, badly!
Someone recently posted about getting backed by Bill Gates or someone similar. In some ways, it really surprises me funding and/or grants have not been there for this company in recent years. When RH was CEO, he got some free money more than once. Why not now? Has there been no effort to secure some free funding?
xB3-001 being pushed back a year was extremely disappointing and when I had the opportunity to talk to DrDR, she indignantly claimed that the year-long postponement/delay of xB3-001 phase 1/b was clearly conveyed to the shareholders during the roadshows and that it's clearly written in the minutes. That really bothered me given the website wasn’t updated until much later. Should I be going to the roadshows (just get a flight, right?) and/or referencing the minutes and comparing those to the website? Shouldn’t they all reflect the same message DrDR? You would think the website would be the most updated place for company information, no? Her indignant attitude on that suggested I was an uninformed investor and that really annoyed me. It's part of the reason for my somewhat negative post today.
Should you trust someone like that?
Is the xB3-001 delay intentional so that some known pharma to bioasis has a golden opportunity to capitalize on bioasis' frustrated shareholders and financial misfortunes? Conspiracy theory? Perhaps, yes! We'll see but I'm skeptical of the ongoingings behind the scenes.
It’s part of the reason I’ve been saying, don’t sell your shares for cheap if/when a low-ball offer comes in. I just don’t know what DrDR is thinking or what key shareholders are whispering to her related to a potential buyout. I’m sure it’s been talked about, a lot.
Personally, I like the cash-cow licensing model and that’s why I say wait for those days or the big payout; $5-10 dollars for this stock would be a bloody steal for any pharma.
Denali was trading at $40 last week!
I recently posted that I was happy that DrDR was promoting the blue-sky potential of bioasis, and I am very happy about it. Unfortunately, it’s tough to get the message out when we’re not in control of our own messaging and rely heavily on our strategic partnerships to advance the science and get the word out. It’s a bit of a pickle but I think the blame can be placed on past leadership.
I expect and hope new data from bioasis soon. DrDR got one decent deal done so here’s to getting another!
Let’s go DrDR!
