RE:RE:RE:U.S. Sports Betting LandscapeHey Braggs,
You're absolutely correct.
From the spreadsheet I was maintaining for theScore in NJ for the last year, I've been able to get a feel for how we've been doing by looking at our quarterly GGR results [since we don't have insight as to how we do monthly] in comparison to Monmouth's revenue, as well as comparing it to NJ On-Line Revenue and lastly, NJ Handle.
Unfortunately for the Momouth situation, we have no idea what Score's GGR or Handle is each month due to complications related to they way they report. Monmouth only reports the aggregate revenue of the three books. To overcome that issue, I use the reported quarterly GGR from theScore and compare it to quarterly metrics from NJ and Monmouth.
Hopefully the link to the screenshot of the spreadsheet works [below].
From the analysis of NJ for the last 3 quarters, it looks like our GGR on average tracks to about 0.025% of NJ Handle. You can also see the other relational percentages in the spreadsheet.
So what is really great this month was what I found in Indiana reporting.
It provides the granularity that answers all my questions and allows for specific computation on a monthly basis.
What is most exciting is that it validates and co-incides with some of NJ's numbers. It brings us one step closer to being able to make assumptions on theScores GGR by knowing the State's on-line/internet Handle.
For September, in Indiana, our Gross Receipts / State On-Line Handle = 0.0255%......almost exactly the same proportions we are seeing out of NJ. Very promising correlations given only two data points. In time, we'll see how the data smooths out over additional samples.
This can give you insight to how our revenue can grow looking all across America, with these 'early days' percentages.
Good Luck.
