I suspect this also! Why hold a depreciating asset, the US$, when you can buy something which can help your bottom line. Problem is that the market generally punishes the aquirer, which may explain the falling share price! People getting out before that happens (they remember the effects of the Detour aquisition, large drop in share price and forget the huge positive of the move). Oh, the down side of a hoard of cash!
