Mr. House Positions:

True: No Joy in Mudville sums TODAY up...

One could say that the weak General Markets and lack of news from Sernova are enough to dampen enthusiasm. SVA closed at $0.28 on a paltry 84k (19k Germany; 0k US - went home early).

It is interesting that volume is just drying up the past few days. My take is the recent round of high volume days was fueled by an anticipation for news similar to what we've seen before. Further, the ongoing 500 lot trading suggests involvement by the computers. To be sure, there are more factors at play (short term traders, some retail shareholders giving up; I have been tempted too, but continue to stay the course.), but the electronic marvels are part of the puzzle.

I've been mulling over that small snippet in the two Virtual Mesa presentations and believe it shows how good and robust The Pouch is when treating brittle diabetics, which implies good things for all diabetics on insulin.

Slide 17 (CGM) and Slide 18 (BIO), the very last line:

"SUBSEQUENT FINDING: Enduring blood levels of fasting C-peptide & ongoing evidence of islet engraftment & durable therapeutic effect detected post-second Cell Pouch islet dose"

My original take on the July 2019 results was too few islets were used initially in cohort 1. The addition of more islets suggests they first allowed cohort 1 to run several months to get robust data on the initial situation. Then, a decision was made to add more islets to see, among several things, whether the use of insulin could be greatly reduced, or even eliminated. The line in blue above suggests the tactic bore fruit. It also implies that The Pouch is a very flexible device in that one may correct deficiencies on the run, very useful and a terrific selling point.
