Today, the auto manufacturer has placed a formal order. And it's a pre-order since they're ordering before December, when HPQ will actually be able to deliver. Snowfog wrote: That's not what the announcement says. In Sept the automobile manufacturer put in a pre-order to ensure they were first in line for when they placed an actual order. They could not have liked the material, as the facility that produces the material is not even in production yet.
As stated in the Sept news release, HPQ expects the initial order to be small. This is probably why they did not announce the quantity or size today. Essentially, a company has just placed a small order for when the plant starts producing in December. They will then do their own testing to ensure it meets their standards, and if all goes well they may start placing industrial size orders. They are not going to place a huge order for material sight unseen.
Not sure what you differ with. We seem to be saying the same thing.
