HPQ Silicon Inc V.HPQ

Alternate Symbol(s):  HPQFF

HPQ Silicon Inc. (HPQ) is a Canada-based technology company specializing in green engineering of silica and silicon-based materials. The Company is engaged in developing, with the support of technology partners PyroGenesis Canada Inc. (PyroGenesis) and Novacium SAS, new green processes to make the critical materials needed to reach net zero emissions. Its activities are centered around the three pillars: becoming a green low-cost (Capex and Opex) manufacturer of Fumed Silica using the Fumed Silica Reactor, a proprietary technology owned by HPQ being developed for HPQ by PyroGenesis; becoming a producer of silicon-based anode materials for battery applications with the assistance of Novacium SAS, and Novacium SAS is engaged in developing a low carbon, chemical base on demand and high-pressure autonomous hydrogen production system. The Company operates in a single operating segment, segment, being the sector of the transformation of quartz into silicon materials and derivative products.

PyroGenesis Canada Inc (CVE:PYR) (OTCQB:PYRNF) Thursday hailed its partner HPQ Silicon Resources Inc’s (CVE:HPQ) (OTCMKTS:URAGF) first order for spherical nano silicon material from a big car maker.

The company said HPQ Silicon Resources through its subsidiary, HPQ Nano Silicon Powders Inc, secured a formal purchase order from a car maker for its spherical nano silicon powders to be produced by its PUREVAPTM Nano Silicon Reactor (NSiR).

The carmaker is aware that HPQ NANO will only fulfill the order later in December, and this only guarantees them a spot in front of the queue for the material. The car maker’s name remains undisclosed at this point due to “competitive reasons.”

“This is a remarkable achievement, and one which clearly underscores both the significant underlying interest in such powders and, as such, the potential impact this product offering could have on the industry,” said PyroGenesis Canada CEO P. Peter Pascali.

“In every new application there will always be challenges along the way, both anticipated and unanticipated. With that in mind, we are happy to note that at this point in time we see nothing that should prevent us from successfully producing the desired powders using PUREVAPTM NSiR.”

Come December, HPQ NANO will start its Gen 1 PUREVAPTM NSiR reactor and delivering material to keep up with the expected strong interest in its nano silicon products.

“To have piqued the interest of a major industrial player so early on, and to the point where they have sent us a formal purchase order for product, before production, just to insure their first mover position speaks volumes about where we are and what we are doing,” said HPQ Silicon CEO Bernard Tourillon.

The company is confident about the prospect of being one of the first to come to market with a low-cost scalable process that can encapsulate, in carbon, the spherical nano silicon powders and nanowires that batteries and electric vehicle manufacturers are looking for.
