True Hermann, simple food for thought. (And thank you for the digging you did on the debentures.)

However, all airlines investors have their eyes turned toward the possibility of a governmental help package, in both countries. Will circumstances be favourable after election day? Will the stockmarket tank for weeks, making the fixing of a bid price elusive? What about the availability of credit? 

Also, the takeovers you are mentioning look to me as mergers, when compared to the Chorus case. Chorus could easily be the object of a harsh bidding war: a strategic an undervalued cash cow with serious growth prospects going for under a billion. Bidders will have to play this with an eye on ongoing circumstances.
