RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Dissident LetterMr. Realitycheck, true to his chosen nickname, can read a balance sheet and make things clear to all. Thanks for that, RC. Part of Mr. Brain Knish's now-derailed strategy was to put out money to talk up the stock, even before he had any real strategy in place. This discussion forum has (or had) paid promotional enhancements, and since Q1 there have been various paid claques in place to celebrate Mr. Knish's brilliance and presumed acheivements. Since the money's all gone and Mr. Knish is no doubt barricaded in his Thornhill home, I doubt that the claques are still being paid, but old habits may die hard. I've been wondering about the dissident group, and I'm thinking they are a stalking horse for someone. Since no one in their right mind would touch the Media Central properties with a barge-pole, the list of possible cloaked stealth acquirers is teensy-weensy. It can't be a big North American media company. It isn't an offshore media company. It isn't a diversified company that thinks buying valueless media assets at rock bottom is a good idea. It isn't overseas cartel or oligarch money looking for a safe harbor and it isn't an IT company trying to buy content to use in other platforms. It has to be someone with a personal attachment to what NOW and Georgia Straight used to stand for, who will arrive with the absurd level of arrogance needed to believe that he alone can return these titles to some kind of viability. It must be Michael Howlett.
