Comparing the Impala yield at 3.5% with KL does not reflect the demand for yield at Impala due to its host country laws relating to shareholders. The above 2016 article highlights how shareholders become unnerved by the implications of political legislation.

Both Barrick and KL have pathetic dividend yields for the cash flow they are generating.
As a comparison Impala is at 3.5 and Polymetal is at 3.5
