Canopy is actively doing

Canopy is actively doingeverything in its power to turn the corner to profitability.  Canadians made the decision to legalize adult rec use and politicians and regulators have come up with some speed bumps to slow things down.  The Canadian legalization efforts were born out of the Medical pot rules and at first were limited to smokable products, go figure.  Potpreneurs saw the future as edibles and current thinking is that beverages will be the big money generators, especially if they get the infrastructure to be in the social drinking venues.  Enter Constellation Brands with about $5 billion C to be a part of the future as they see it which added a ton of legitimacy to the Canadian greenrush.  Government indecision caused a strangulation of licensing which left a surplus of high quality marijuana because there weren't enough legal outlets to sell safe and inspected product.  Along came edibles with their own delays for final approval by inspectors and regulators.  Combine that with some silly posession limits that only allowed 5 single serve beverages at one purchase and you can see the problems by comparison to the free reign that Big Alcohol has.  Advertising, packaging and whatever else is also unduly restricted.  The largest consumer province in Canada is Ontario who played lottery games with licensing and the result is about 200 dispensaries that are active and functional with about 800 applications on file to satisfy the need of legal licensed retailers and dispensaries.  Canopy wasn't deterred because they are the undisputed leaders and continued to develop edibles and beverages which are doing well considering what they are up against as far as regulations.  Canopy is forward thinking and planning for the future and their US expansion through Acreage Holdings.  They have put a lot of money and effort into Acreage as their choice of a US MSO and have a deal waiting to happen.  They have also figured out how to get their brands onto US shelves through Acreage while the US figures out their situation which will lead to blanket legislation or continue to rely on State protection.  The expense of Acreage has already been dealt with and when it sorts itself out legally, Canopy will assume the fixed shares of Acreage with the option of buying up the floating shares, which they will imo.  Canopy and Acreage took the downturn that was dealt out to all the greenrush candidates but are still actively pursuing building their businesses.  Canopy has a whole stable of skus that they will brand out to Acreage and the US market is growing State by State.  Cannabinoid infused beverages are growing in popularity and investors are starting to see their potential as money makers especially as they become disruptors to the marketshare held by Big Alcohol.  By my calculation, the Acreage deal is "on sale" right now with a ton of upside potential as they move towards profitability.  Just saying!  glta and dyodd
