I doubt any of the Gulf States need to see the writting on the wall. While Europe and North America may slowly wean themselves off oil, the rest of the world where 80% of the people live will want the cheapest form of energy, which is oil. In the case of Natural gas, it will remain the major scource of home heating and power generation for decades to come. There are just no viable alternatives except Nuclear power which has its own opponents. Wind and solar have too many limitations.
