RE:A man drove a van down the sidewalk of Yonge Street of This is perfectly normal.I've been practicing criminal law for 20 years.   The lawyer needs to read carefully the evidence and see if a common law defence could find application, or if there was any Charter violation. Maybe have expertises done. Then have plea bargainings discussions with the prosecutor, among other things.  Nobody comes straight in court at the first appearance and pleads guilty.  The judge would even refuse to accept it in those circumstances. So the process start with a plea of not guilty.   Nothing is wrong man, take a tea and chill out
