RE:RE:RE:As of today they are still Drilling at GoldstormCdnAnimal, glaciers can have water runoff year round. Sometimes from the glacier resevoirs or more typically far underneath the surface.
On the surface, the air will typically keep it very solid, so the rigs are quite stable. Like driving a truck on a lake in the winter to your favorite ice-fishing spot. Some swampy / muddy places are much easier to drill in the winter when condtions are frozen.
CanadianAnimal wrote: I know this may be a little off topic but its an interest to me. When its being said they are drilling on the glacier, how do they get any kind of a solid footing to drill. Before I got hurt I used to ski the glaciers at Whistler-BlacKcomb. God I loved that!!! I cant imagine how they would do that. How is water still running from the glacier when my outside dog bowl is freezing. I live along the St Clair River in southern Ontario. Its just a little hard to imagine. But I was never the sharpest knife in the drawer. If the glaciers are melting how would that not shift things when drilling. Like I said Its just an interest to learn if anyone has any answers that would be great. Thanks
