RE:RE:Partner WebinarI have a different view. ETI has more growth/revenue avenues than MWX and from my perspective the CC market, while desirable, was not in their primary objectives. However, for MWX, they've basically staked their future on the CC market. It is front and center their #1 priority. So, MWX has much more to gain or lose based on the CC recycling market.
A few weeks ago, ETI finally provided some guidance into thier future with an online presentation. That was before MWX let them know that they are moving away from ETI in terms of CC solutions. If you look at the ETI plan (still available on ETI website) and view their timelines and milestones for the next 5 years, you don't see any mention of anything related to CC.
I'm not saying CC is not important, I think it is very important. What I am saying is that it is probably less important to ETI than their primary drivers (E-waste, Gold mining, insitu mining).
To me what is most important here is to better understand the intellectual property "owned" by ETI and how defendable it is. ETI has touted (long ago) that Jabil reviewed the patents (pending at that time) and they were satisfied that they were strong and defendable. Perhaps those patents have nothing to do with the modified chemistry they are working on for CC recycling, or perhaps they do.
Some posters on the MWX board seem to believe it is a foregone conclusion that MWX has the last laugh. After all, they sought legal advice prior. Well, the courts are filled with cases where both sides had prior legal advice, yet one side still loses.
