RE:POOR SPMT"tickertom - (11/19/2020 6:40:19 PM)
POOR SPMT I enjoyed coming to the boards to read, what I perhaps, missed, cheer with other investors, or anticipate with others some news. That is not the case anymore. Sarcasm, nasty comments, comments directed to humiliate the management. I thought this is only happening at SPMT site, but I ventured at many other boards and I learned, that on many other boards are the same type of characters poisoning the sites. I do not understand, why people, who are not even investors, feel, that they have the right to post on these boards. I wonder, why Stockhouse does not block these people, is it just few lonely characters with many nicknames? I will continue to invest my money, but will restrict my time on the boards. It gives a really bad taste in my mouth."
Below is a quote from another board but I think it answers your question as to why toxicity exists on so many boards...
"Here they come...!
The trolls have stared showing up, which usually means something good is in the works...
Just remeber to hit the ignore button, and don't respond to them, since trolls "eat" attention. When you respond to them you just give them your power, just be content to know that their presence is a good sign and usually means the ticker will start to have greater liquidity giving way to higher highs and lower lows...
Buying on lows and holding long term is the most sensible way to win in this situation, patience pays in these scenarios, so be strong and hold fast...
Just remeber trolls are here for a reason and it is not to warn you or help you, but rather to use fear to buy your shares on the cheap when you panic sell...
My experience with trolls over the last 8 years is that
A) They are getting paid to push the price down.
B) They are a little cuckoo, or
C) A little bit of both A) and B)... ;)"
If you are seeing a lot of negativity it is easily remedied by setting those users on ignore, I do this daily and rarey see negative posts, I do this for my mental well being because all that trash talk hurts your health, I suggest you use the tools available o you to create a more positive environment...
