Titanwon, Caribou has been closed multiple times because it is a loser mine.  Any time a company opens Caribou, you are pretty much guaranteed that the price of zinc will crater within a couple of years because of some unforeseen reason.  Markets cycle up and down, and Caribou can never generate enough profit during the good times to make up for the losses during the bad times.
 
This is relevant now because it proves that I am right.  Caribou should NEVER be opened unless at least 2 years worth of production can be hedged at a very healthy profit.  The total cost of reopening and operating Caribou for 2 years will likely be around $1.25.  That is why you need to be able to hedge around $1.50 to make it worthwhile.
