RE:RE:OREA - FYITrue, not even the NG reports submitted yet, never mind the French consideration stage for the award or not of a mine permit. In fact. no gold explorer legally ownes the sites upon which they presently work in French Guiana. The licenses are all out of date, yet, work is still going on with French permission. OREA has already gone to court to try and legally defend their Montagne d'OR licenses which I believe are the only 2 licences still valid in FG (these expire in next several months due to CGT having renewed them more recently than all the rest).
For some reason the French mining comission were supposed to rule on all these FG gold exploration licenses sometime ago, but choose not to citing the need for further legal consultation. I think that the French are basically waitng to announce their new mining code which no doubt will be influenced by the cutting edge mine app/reports supposedly to be out from NG, before the end of 2020.
However, should Montagne d'Or be refused in 2021 then watch Newmont, Barrick, IAG, NG, OREA and Reunion leave FG post haste. Further, watch the amount of illegal gold mining in FG explode as all those former exploration sites are left to those on a 'first come first served basis. The French Foreign Legion thinks they already have a problem in FG re., illegal mining control, just watch.
Also for those interested NG is in an all out battle with Shandong mining over the Cardinal Res' potential mine in Africa. A new bid from a third party arrived yesterday at AUS1.05. So, if NG is to get this project it is going to cost them in the range of 6 - 8 hundred mill for both buyout and mine build. This may give NG food for thought re., their approach to Montagne d'Or. In fact, this African issue may be the reason for NG slow going the ESIA, etc., in FG.
Again, as usual just my HO's.
