Walter Aduviri plays his last card before the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court of Justice has scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, at 9:30 a.m., the hearing of the Exceptional Appeal for Cassation presented by the defense of the regional governor of Puno, Walter Aduviri, against the Judgment of Hearing No. 262 -2019, which condemns him to 6 years of imprisonment and reparation of 2 million soles, for the crimes of disturbances.
Sources from the aforementioned institution told Diario Correo that, once the hearing is held, the Chamber has twenty days to resolve; although, lately in similar events it has pronounced after seven.
Argument
The interest of the Cassation is the following: “It has been pointed out, by the challenger, to specify regulatory infractions linked to three issues; a) the configuration of co-authorship, that is, the correct interpretation and application of the scope of article 23rd of the Penal Code ... ”.
In simple terms, the defense of Aduviri requires that the Supreme Chamber clarify whether the events of the "Aimarazo", which occurred in May 2011, are configured within the co-authorship.
And it is that, in the riots of that year, those who carried out the fire of different institutional headquarters were identified as direct authors. However, all have been acquitted and the only one who was prosecuted is Aduviri.
His last card
Practically, this is the last card played by the former president of the Front for the Defense of Natural Resources in the South Zone.
If teh Courts decides against, Aduviri will have to serve his sentence in prison. A favorable ruling will return him to "command" the Regional Government of Puno. His supporters hope that before Christmas Aduviri will return.
