Those who were following what was happening in China then in Europe knew that is was just a matter of time before the virus came here. Doctor Tam told us repeatidly that closing the borders was not a solution to stop the virus, for the virus did not respect borders...One thing is sure ; the virus cannot fly and cannot cross the ocean by itself, it had to be brought here.
After hundreds of flights came in Canada from all regions of the world, and after the virus was solidly implanted, the borders were finaly closed ( with lots of exceptions for extended family and other special reasons ). This decision that could have been an excellent decision if it had been made months before, was taken too late. It is as if those who took it were completely taken by surprise by all of this.
We are now stuck with the virus and we are stuck as well with the same bunch that were the deciders in chief in charge since the beguining of the pandemy in ...China...so they had ample time to plan an effective response to this.
As for avoiding the coming of the virus in Canada I think that they completely missed the boat, as for helping people that need help financialy, I think they are doing a good job. Yes it is expensive and yes we will have to pay for it.
