RE:Environmental PermitThe Stantec hydrology report recently posted on the company's website, shows that there is surface water flow divide that basically runs north-south and appears to be located right on top of the proposed open pit mining locations. Therefor some of the drainage from the pit area will flow eastward to the Pic River, located a couple of kilometers away. However, the tailings area will be west of the flow divide, so any drainage coming off the tailings will end up in a series of small streams that discharge to L. Superior several tens of km downstream. I would think this should be a relatively positive situation with regard to the environmental impact of the tailings impoundments.
