RE:RE:RE:RE:UK Approves Pfizer Vaccine for use.Yes that is what the UK is doing (and Canada etc), I get it that we want to protect grandma and grandpa but is it the best use of a limited resource to distribute that way? Does a 99 year old retirment resident have more right than a 20 something single parent with 2 kids, said single parent can't work due to covid lockdown and their benefits have run out? Is that how we allocate organ donor recipients to the oldest with the shortest expected lifespan?
Thankfully we don't have to make that decision, our governments are making that decision for us. Just an awful decision that will have a negative outcome for one group over another. They will be blamed no matter what they choose.
If the vaccines work as adverised (and majority of population gets it) the pessimistic timeline is everyone should have a chance at vaccination by end of 2021 (I am more optimistic than this ~ mid 2021).

But the elderly, especially those in nursing homes, have to be at the top of the list. That is where the death toll is the very worst.
So for me, I would do the health care workers first, especially the nursing home staff, then the nursing home residents, then other first responders, teachers, people over 65, then everyone else. Politicians should be last on the list. :o)
