They cost very little. It's basically a tube with a fuel valve and an atomizing air valve. Diesel fuel pumps supply the fuel to burner. (Pressure) Then the fuel air mixture is sprayed into furnace through burner nozzle. The cost of a diesel burner is not a factor when considering economics. We could make one in the garage.

Now a plasma burner would be much harder to construct in the garage. Ha
