copper porphyry metallurgy

copper porphyry metallurgy
The focus of San Tomas has been on its copper resource attributed to known historical data going back decades and the more recent exploration work.  San Tomas trip report video #3 indicates copper mineralization at the surface (see post on 9/28).

A few metals are found in elemental form in nature (such as gold, silver, copper, and platinum).  Hard-rock mines seek to recover metal that is entrained within natural mineralization through processing large amounts of ore.  What is is prevalence of gold and silver in the regional geology?  Are there any precious metal mining projects within Sinaloa state?  If so, in what concentrations and form are those metals present?  Does precious metal concentration in copper porphyry deposits tend to track copper concentration?  Any geologists or metallurgists on this forum who can opine?  How might the presence of metals other than copper affect the economics of this project?
