This is a confusing ruling. One of the supreme courts original purposes was to resolve issues between states so they do not spiral into violence. In this case 20 states were officialy for it and 20 against. To denny even hearing the evidence becasue of lack of standing seems a stretch. There is now no legal way to resolve this and Texas has already talked about getting a group of states together to secede from the US and form a new Country.

Trump sighned an oath to defend the US from all enemies foriegn and domestic. That may be part of why he is continuing to fight this.

Confused about the swift ruling?  And why the SCOTUS couldn't even take a brief moment to examine the evidence presented in more detail?

Maybe the answer is not so difficult.  A legal body of the highest order would never fear politics or popular sentiment in a functioning judicial system.  They are above all that, and appointed for life. So what could be their concern?

Or maybe there is a threat to legitimacy?  Or possibly they detect a challenge to a system which protects their very existence, although not necessarily their intended function?

Maybe that's the true fear.  To avoid having to judge upon a system that is just a facade.  A facade which cannot be challenged because it does make an effort to harbor a perceived legitimate justice system.

Self preservation is a very strong incentive.  Especially for enlightened ones that detect that they require a functioning nation in order for their proclamations to be honored.  Even more so when the jurisdiction is in fact a Plutacracy that is being attacked by a Golden Gollum.

Show me the incentive, I'll show you the outcome.

Presidentual Pardons are irreversible.

Hand them out to the Snowden's, the Assange's, etc.  As the lady states, give them thier own show on TNN with a scantily clad knockout as a co-host, and drive the Swamp insane over the upcoming years.  Even Ted Nugent and Gary Busey could help out.

There is a nation for the taking.
