Lets Move On
I think Anchor’s posts describe it well, the Seeking Alpha article really isn’t anything malicious, just a case of the author only doing superficial research and probably not having an in depth understanding of: A) Santo Tomas B) Management’s alignment C) How PPs work, in terms of the time lag between pricing-close.
With a certain amount of research one can become very comfortable not only that the 6-7b lb Cu historic resource will be confirmed but that that the ultimate resource to be revealed at Santo Tomas is likely to be double or triple that (happy to list the multiple obvious factors pointing to expansion of that magnitude). To Twaver’s point, some people aren’t comfortable investing until everything is spelled out, others are willing to read between the lines and are compensated for that additional risk with above market returns.
Investors who are ‘scared off’ by this article probably either don’t have a suitable risk profile for this investment in the first place (and that’s not a dig, it’s not for everybody), and/or may not have a solid fundamental understanding of what they own. Of course there’s also profit takers who understand the story but are up multiples of their investment and want to crystallize some gain to derisk or realize some liquidity, which is fair, to each their own.
The market is efficient enough that there’s no need to make allegations or argue with people who don’t get it or don’t like it, the asset will speak for itself.
Time to move on and move forward.
Merry Xmas and hope everyone enjoys the holidays, 2021 will be an exciting year.
