Price Momentum
Argument to be made that 'material news' notwithstanding, if the SP is moving, then best to just 'get out of the way' and let it do its thing for a bit... Many (if not most) people here and others have suggested (rightly IMHO) that based on current achievements so far, the SP is significantly undervalued at this time. No 'fluff' in it sitting at levels more commensurate with the performance/potential of the underlying business [activities] -- especially compared to other 'promo' stocks (some only at "R&D' or even 'conception' stage), trading near/at KNR which is silly IMHO.
'Facts' are the 'mass' for Buffet's weighing machine, but SP is as we all know often a product of sentiment and the 'voting machine'. Facts (that is business results and credible potential) should drive the business and will arguably 'always catch up' if behind (ie in the long-run), but in the meantime, for those longs loyal for some time, or invested in high 3's (or higher), some short-term SP support at levels higher than today's (even significantly) is a perfectly reasonable "ask" IMO. No one should suggest that 'managing the share price' is a good use of mgmt's time (or even a sound strategy for that matter) but recognizing how the market may react to your steps is prudent and just plain smart, so why not proceed accordingly? News can lead to knee-jerk reaction based on the actions of intra-days and other actors interested in “using” the stock as a short-term tool to make money. So that messed-up ‘context’ doesn’t always react ‘rationally’ (that is, positively), to good news if it’s not “blockbuster” news.
All that said, over the mid- to long-term (again relative in the speed of this market development) this should all be moot I would suggest (thankfully!). GLTA and pls, Stay Cool…
