This is very good perspective.  Looking at a stock daily is like watching my garden vegetables every day.  It is good to keep the future outlook in mind. 

I too had the selling problem - bought Tesla pre-split at 220 and sold at 232.  Then it went up to 2000 within like 8 months.  Tons of the same scenario with different stocks. 

I think it's a good reminder to look at the management team - are we confident they can execute?  Is their revenue/earnings trending the right way?  With an good acquisiton, the bottom line will be growing and we are in a very good sector with good social-political tailwinds.  Plus, like another poster said, who wouldn't cash out (especially at Christmas time, end of year - they also may take profits here because they tax loss harvested somewhere else) when the stock triples in price in a couple of months.  And there are always the shorters in play. 

All good points to keep in mind for the long term investor.
