RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Est end of Montreal will get the REM ...well well well, Now that's funny they mentioined 10 Billion overall and we all know we should tack on another 30% ... the city is investing WITH the pandemic , imagine what kind of plans they would have come up wwith no pandemic to deal with ... the bomber got screwed , plain and simple .. the govts didn't want to work with the bomber and vice-versa , one big mess and now that the Alstom deal is a go all of a sudden we " need" an REM in the east ...don't forget maintenance and logistics for the futur ... all in all the bomber lost bigtime money and maybe they deserve to , who knows the truth ... all I know is
-1- we gave away the Cseries
- 2- we lost the trains
-3- we eat our own
-4- I want my money back with profit then I'm moving on
GLTA
-3- we

The bomber had to give an arm as collateral for that 1 billion in credit facility..
they had squat left for really anything else. Sometimes it is better not to get than to do so in fact considering the pandemic, it is even better they did not get it.
bicente wrote: obviously you do not understand how much money this will be thrown at a foreign country , the CDPQ is part of this contract/risk , and yes it is a risk , anything can happen between now and the completion and even the best company can scam the govts .. so yes , any comany used will be a risk and betting on the bomber would have been the right thing to do with the original REM .. knowing that govts were planing this huge REM without choosing the bomber in inconceivable and I now understand the sale of Bombardier transportation even more ... the next step would be cleaning up the balance sheet , getting some nice low-interest financing , a couple of positive quaters and BANG , a buyout offer at say 7$ / share and the bomber moves to the US... family makes out like a bandit , we shareholders make some cash and the GOVTS are left scratching their heads ...we eat our own ... You would have to wonder what the conditions would have been even if they found the money.
I certainly would not have taken a chance and neither should the case have taken that chance,
What collateral would they have left to offer considering their balance sheet...Like I said..anyone offering them any kind of financing would have had to have his head examined.
Those are the facts,,,no matter what the issues were on mass transit investment.
bicente wrote: the bomber would have found money coming from all directions if they had the contracts in their back pockets ( like many contractors have had in the past when dealing with govt contracts) ... I Govt contracts can get very profitable with extras and bonuses ... it was decided a long time ago that we would not invest in our transit with any kind of seriousness .. I don't blame the bomber for selling ,today just confirms what I thought all along : the govts never got along with the bomber ( the family) ... GLTA
clubhouse19 wrote: Does anyone really think that the Bomber had a secure enough balance sheet to handle such a project.
Considering what the history was of the rail divison and importantly their balance sheet...I don't think anyone in their right mind would have taken that chance.

I swear we are the butt of all jokes around the world , we did not have the dalls to stand our ground and use bombardier products as a showcase for the rest of the world to drool over ... we had the best but our govts couldn't fight for the right to use our own products , what a joke ...but I guess the joke is over and we will be happy to over-pay for our trains now ... I feel sorry for the next generation who will have to pay for the govts continuosly screwing everything up .. GLTA
quote=Shamhorish]bicente, exactly, another proof that Quebec and canadian gov, imo are agents for france and usa
they run the country and provences for the best of france and usa
not for the benefits of canadians
imo, they watch over all innovation, and make sure it fall in hands of france or usa
real evil work
