Actually the market is not expecting news till Dec 27.... hence market maker… individual market participant or member firm of an exchange that also buys and sells securities for its own account, at prices it displays in its "exchange's trading systems" with the primary goal profiting from the buy and sell spread. This common practice is to keep the market (stock) moving… in this case waiting for financials followed by new.
