But that just isn't realistic, yeah some of our money goes to people who maybe shouldn't get it, although I'm not sure I know who they are exactly. Sure some people game the system but our social workers aren't completely crazy, they don't like writing cheques to scum bags any more than you do.
I guess if your Mother was a crackhead prostitute and you managed to pull yourself out of that mess and do well in life without help or luck of any kind then maybe I'd understand the resentment you feel towards those who haven't worked as hard as you have but otherwise I don't get it.
I used to drive my kids through the downtown eastside and I take that route myself sometimes just to snap myself back into reality, other peoples reality, it's humbling, try it sometime.
