RE:Hype Peter, my guess is cost and methodology. I have followed the site for Heslth Canada review of all covid tests. First of all less than 10 of the over 100 tests currently being reviewed are point of care, thus they're not rapid tests. Of the 10, only 3 or so are rapid tests. All of the POC tests require a nasal swab or blood sample and are relatively expensive.
Yes, you can buy a test ....but how many tests do you have to purchase and use to continue to demonstrate you're negative for covid? The idea behind CoviSafe is that it will be significantly accurate (won't pass review if it's not), easy to provide a sample, fast and relatively cheap so that it could be used extensively in large setting situations. Right now there is nothing like that in Canada or the US and I would suggest in most other countries as well.

Reading this board for longer time now and I didnt get the Hype. Here in Europe I can buy 15min saliva rapid tests with higher sensitivity than tb - today. Why do you guys see such a high potential in a 15min saliva rapid test propably at market in a few month? Really interested in honest answers.
